I was reading this morning before going into work and I want to pass on a question that I thought was quite powerful and one worth considering.
"When were you last vividly aware of the closeness of the risen Christ? If your encounters with the Saviour are few and far between then ask yourself 'why?' Is it because your prayer times are rushed and you do not linger in His presence? Is there some unconfessed sin in your life? Throughout the centuries Christians have testified that prayer - unrushed prayer, that is - more than anything makes the risen Christ seem real.
(The Big Story, Philip Greenslade, Day 6)
I will be making a real effort to think about and consider this question myself over the coming days. The starting point of overcoming any problem is admitting that you have one, do you have a problem of closeness with Christ?
My thoughts, feelings and ideas as I work through the Bible and build my life on God's foundations.
Intro
This blog is supposed to be, as much as I can, my daily journey through life as a Christian. I hope it to be my thoughts and feelings on life but be as grounded in the Christian message as it can. My intention is not to create a daily readings or bible study guide but to look at my life in terms of a Christian trying to find and follow God's mission using his Life User's Manuel AKA the Bible.
Matthew 10 19-20
And don't you worry about what you'll say or how you'll say it. The right words will be there; the Spirit of your Father will supply the words. - Matthew 10 19-20
